In January 1986 Tom and Anne Mondelci established Northeast Isuzu Engines/Norpro. Mr. Mondelci had introduced Isuzu diesel engines five years earlier and was now setting up a company whose sole purpose was to distribute Isuzu diesel products to the Northeastern United States.

Norpro quickly became recognized as one of the leading distributors of Isuzu diesel products in the United States. Norpros growth and recognition were due to Norpros core belief in exceptional customer service and satisfaction, and in the selling of outstanding products- Isuzu diesel engines. Norpro grew very rapidly and in 1988 Mr. Mondelci began designing and manufacturing generators under the Norpro trademark. Norpros philosophy was simple:

• Build a product that was dependable and reliable in all kinds of operating conditions
• Use the best technology available
• Make a product that was simple and easy to maintain
• Provide the best pricing in the industry

Norpro had become more than just an engine/parts distributor. It was now a manufacturer and its reputation for building a quality product that was highly reliable and affordably priced fueled its growth to a company that now distributes power generation products all over the world.

One thing has not changed and that is that Mr. Mondelci is still guiding Norpro in its everyday business but now his two sons Thomas and Jared assist him. Norpro has the feel of a small business whose core values of customer service and satisfaction remain firmly in place.

Norpro now manufactures products which address multi-industry power generation needs such as commercial marine, recreational boating, agriculture, forestry, recreational vehicles, homeowners, portable power, standby power, and many more. Norpro continues to build its reputation based upon exceptional customer service and satisfaction and products that are the best in the industry.

Norpro has had many notable achievements since its inception in 1986. Norpro continues to develop and distribute new products, which allow it to appeal to an ever growing customer base. Norpro manufactures a full line of alternative fuel based generators using Nissan and General Motors power plants. Norpro builds portable power generators, industrial and marine pumps along with natural gas standby power units.

In 2002 Norpro has developed sound attenuation devices (sound shields) for its line of marine generators, which allows the quietest generator operation in the marine industry. At the 2003 Miami Boat Show Norpro introduced its newest line of generators powered by the popular Yanmar series of diesel engines. These units are ultra light, ultra quiet, compact and feature the latest technological innovations and features.

Research and design efforts are ongoing, the purpose of which is to allow Norpro to maintain its lead in technology, price and customer satisfaction.

Navigator Series
The Navigator series of products is designed for both pleasure and commercial boats. Features like heat exchanger cooling, stainless steel water-cooled exhaust manifold, wet exhaust elbows, stainless drip pan, auto shutdowns and plug-in instrument panels are standard on the Navigator units. This series features Isuzu diesel engines with 5-year\5000 hour warranties (Farymann in 4.3 kW model) and Marathon or Newage brushless generators. The Navigator series generators are rated from 4.3 kW to 96 kW. 50 Hz, 1200 rpm and 3 phase\1 phase units are also available in this series.

Sound shields are available for the 4.3 through 21 kW models.

The Navigator series is Norpros top of the line and as such will meet the needs of the most demanding sea dog.

Serious Fisherman Series
This series has been designed for commercial applications such as commercial fishing boats and other types of commercial vessels and a limited number of pleasure boats. Isuzu diesel engines with 5-year\5000 hour warranties (Farymann in 4.3 kW model) and Marathon or Newage brushless generators are standard equipment. The Serious Fisherman series is available in kW ratings from 4.3 kW to 96 kW. 50 Hz, 1200 rpm and 3 phase\1 phase are also available. These units are set up for keel cooling and are equipped with dry exhaust (heat exchanger cooling is available on 6 kW-21kW models), have plug-in instrument panels, auto shutdowns and more. Reducing the number of standard features on the Serious Fisherman series allows Norpro to provide its customers with a very competitively priced unit.

Note: The Navigator series and the Serious Fisherman series are painted in 3-part polyurethane.

Spartan Surf Series
This series meets the needs of those who are searching for the greatest value in marine power. Powered by Isuzu diesel engines with a 5-year\5000 hour warranty and a fully automated engine shut down system, the Spartan Surf series features a limited list of standard equipment. Available from 6 kW to 75 kW the Spartan Surf series of generators is set up for keel cooling and dry exhaust with heat exchanger cooling available on the 6kW-21kW models.

Sound Shields
Currently, the Norpro sound shields are available for the Navigator Series for models from 4.3 kW up to 21 kW. Made of high-grade powder coated lightweight aluminum these sound shields are the finest in the industry. The Norpro staff has taken many hours to design and test these units and to ensure the best available quality.

These units enable quick and easy maintenance access via three (two in 4.3 kW model) removable panels. They can be quickly disassembled in less than 5 minutes.

Navigator Series
This series features Isuzu diesel engines with a 5-year\5000 hour warranty, auto shutdowns and a long list of standard features such as a heat exchanger cooling system, wet exhaust manifold, wet exhaust elbow and a plug-in instrument panel. Models are available from 26 hp to 226 hp ratings at 2500 to 3200 RPMs.

Serious Fisherman Series
This series features Isuzu diesel engines with a 5-year\5000 hour warranty and an engine shut down system. They are set up for keel cooling and come equipped with a wrapped dry exhaust manifold. These units are available in 95 hp to 260 hp ratings at 2000/2500 RPMs.

Note: Both the Navigator and Serious Fisherman series of engines are finished in 3 part polyurethane paint.
